I found this big hornet’s nest on my father in law’s durian tree. Hornets are dangerous insects, therefore it is wise to stay at least 10 meters away if encounter a hornets nest.
Like bees, the hornet stings is very painful and to someone who is allergic to the venom, death may occur from anaphylactic reaction.

yah, yah!!!! i watched animal planet the last time on astro. these hornets are really killers. they kill other bees for their larvae. same goes for our govt today...hehehehe
ReplyDeleteAiyor! So dangerous! My quinee (local mango) trees FULL of them...but the nest was not there. By evening, the whole lot would fly away in a thick, black cloud. I had to get people to come and get rid of the trees (...could earn a few hundred ringgit each time they bore fruits, minus those that I gave away to friends and relatives!!!).
ReplyDeleteCalvin : Ya, one hornet can kill 50 bees in one attack, scary lorr!
ReplyDeleteSTP : Quinee, I missed that fruit. Quite some time haven't eat already lorr.
ooo..thanks for the tips! i'm terrified of them.
ReplyDeleteNice post... Looks like solid state memory is finally starting to become more popular. Hopefully we'll start seeing a drop in solid-state drive prices real soon. Five dollar 32 gig SDs for your Nintendo DS flash card... sounds good to me!
