Peteformation Korean Samgyetang – Ginseng Chicken Soup Recipe

My version of Samgyetang and the high powered Korean Ginseng that I bought in Korea!
This is one of my favourite Korean foods. Samgyetang normally uses a whole chicken but in my recipe, I used chicken pieces because I did not have a whole chicken in my fridge. Samgyetang is a very nutritious Korean food, which the main ingredients consist of whole Korean ginseng, glutinious rice, garlic, ginger and wolfberry. Sometimes dongkwai are also added to it. Samgyetang is effective to revitalise our body and replace lost energy! I have modified this dish a little bit, using whatever ingredients that is available in my fridge. The end result tasted quite near to the original Samgytang I had in Korea. Here is the recipe. Ingredients Chicken, 1 bird Korean Ginseng Powder, 1 teaspoon Wolfberry (kei chi), 1 table spoon Dongkwai, 1 pc Ginger, 1”x1”x” Garlic, 5 pcs Salt to taste Pepper, ½ teaspoon Red Dates (Ang Cho), 5 pcs Spring Onions for garnishing Put chicken in a cooking pot. Pour water over the chicken until it cover the chicken. Add more water if you want more soup. Put all the ingredients and boil for 1 hour. Serve with rice or noodles. I love to eat it with chili padi (bird eye chilli).....LOL!
