Attacked by a German Shepherd

A German Shepherd dog rushed out from a house and attacked me when the owner who just came back left the gate open. I fell off my bike and have to ward off the attack by swinging my bare hands at the dog. The owner did not even come out to help me and this lasted for about 1 minutes. I managed to escape with bruises and cuts on my knee. There are abrasions on my chest when I knocked on my bike handle. I sprained my elbow and my knee as well. When it sensed that I was not an easy victim, the dog ran back in to the house. Then, when I was about to push my bike away it came out again. This time I was ready to face the vicious dog but it went back in when it saw my angry face! The owner quickly closed the gate and go inside the house. Did not even appologise! Damm bloody nitwit! What type of mentality is this? An attack dog can permanently maim a person or damage the victim internal organs. If you are such a negligent person, don’t ever think of owing a dog! I cannot imagine what will happen if the victim just now is not me but some kids from my neighborhood. Don’t ever be overconfident that your dog would never attack someone. If they do attack someone due to your negligence, you could be sued or jailed. I love dogs and I had 5 dogs when I was a kid. I always make sure that they don’t leave the house and put them on leash whenever there were visitors in my house. Now, my whole body ache and I hope that there are no other undetected injuries or else Peteformation would become Doggoneformation tomorrow! Anyway, I leave the case to the police for now.

  3. Eiii... Pete... I was also attacked by a dog before... when I was a kid, at the Pantai Bersih there. You know... it's common for kids to ride bicyle in the evening last time. Dono which asshole never put on leash on his Rottweiler... the damn dog chased me til I fell down from my bicycle and wanna bite me! Luckily that time I was with a group of friends. They helped me chased away the damn dog! Else, i oso goner liao lerr!

  4. That's why I don't like dogs. My missus was bitten by our neighbour's doberman once...and they did not even bother to come out to help or do anything at all. Such irresponsible people should not keep dogs!!! Were you bitten? Must go for rabies shots...

  6. There's a similar one in my parent's neighbourhood. The owner denied that the dog is violent and has a tendency to attack. I was told to report to the local council. They will be able to take action against the owner.

I believe dogs like these have to be put down. Otherwise they endanger people.

I think you should report to MBPJ also and enclose your police report.

How can the owner be so #$%&(&* . After his dog attacked you he didnt even check and see your condition nor offer to send you to clinic.

  15. So sorry to hear about the attack. We've had Alsatians before (keep a labrador now ) and they have always been'fine' with outsiders. We've never sent them for guard dog training as we kept them as homely companions. The onus is always on the owners to be responsible.

  16. This dog owner is just plain @#$%^& can't even tame his own dog and worst still so irresponsible as though nothing ever happened. If this is the case the dog will go wild again and some unlucky person would be the next victim. Hope you are OK bro and please do not take things lightly go for check up if not feeling too good. Take care!

  28. Oh that is awful! I do hope you are ok now. I can only imagine what the dog could have done if it had been a little child. Our dog is always on a leash wherever he goes with us. I have been knocked down several times while hiking by unleashed dogs! The owners just walk right by!

  31. what happens now? did the police follow up on the case? was any action taken on the owner? it happened to me too. I walked right up to the owner and chided him on the spot for not doing anything immediately and his kids were laughing when i was lying on the ground. a cheeky nine yr old was urging the dog to bite me... a kid is a kid does not know what he is doing. I intro myself , pointed out to him my house, I had every right to use the road like every body else n I was going to report to the council and the police after I had got the medical report. minutes later the old man ( i suspect most senior member of the family came, apologized profusely n in the name of neighbourliness asked me not to take further action. Mrs urged me to calm down. i didnt report. we r still neighbours n still talking.
