Simple Recipe - Chinese Crullers (Yau Char Kwai) with Cucumber Salad

Chinese crullers are made from flour and deep fried until crispy. It is normally eaten with porridge or Bak Kut Teh (Chinese Meat Herbal Soup). I have some leftovers crullers that I bought for breakfast and I used it as one of the ingredients for my salad. Ingredients 1) 1 pc Chinese Crullers (Yau Char Kwai) 2) 1 cucumber, cut into 4cmX1cm size 3) Thousand Island Salad Dressing or Mayonnaise. (Note: These salad dressing contain eggs, so if you a do not take eggs, please don’t use this dressing) If the Chinese Cruller is not crispy, just heat it up in oven at 150 Deg C for 15 minutes. Cut it into small pieces and let it cool down. Mix it with cucumber and add the salad dressing. 3. Hi Pete, just popping in to say hello and thank you for leaving me so many nice comments recently. This yau char kwai salad looks great. I recently had a similar dish in Penang, but the YCK is stuffed with fish paste and then deep fried and served with a fruit salad. It was yummylicious. :)
