I took my wife and kids shopping last Saturday and did not cook on that day. We were checking out new places to eat and ended up having our dinner at Michele Cafe Kepong. This is the first time I ate here. I actually did not see the sign board of the cafe but got the name from the drinks’ receipt. So, I am not sure whether they used the same name in their shop sign board or not. My apology!
As usual, my son ordered his favourite hawker dish, the har mee (Prawn noodles). I tried the har mee soup. It tasted quite good, so the har mee passed my test!
My daughter wanted the curry mee although we advise her to eat some rice. At last we gave in and ordered curry mee for her. The serving is quite big and they are quite generous with the garnish. It tasted ok, more of KL style type of curry mee.
Initially, my wife wanted to eat Teowchew porridge but the restaurant was closed. I had a real bad tummy discomfort the night before so I opt for chicken porridge with fried pork intestine, my favourite. I just love the crunchy fried pork intestine. The porridge came in a rather big clay pot, enough for two people, so I shared it with my wife. The fried pork intestine is quite good and there is not unpleasant smell in it at all. The porridge is smooth and soft. I still remember the best intestine porridge I had was the one in Ipoh town old shop lots!
Overall the atmosphere of this restaurant is ok and I will be back here again to try out the food from other hawker stalls.
