Kar Hee Restaurant, Taman Kok Lian, Jalan Ipoh, Kuala Lumpur – Nice Family Restaurant
My sister in law suggested that we have our dinner in Sin Kar Hee while driving back from a day trip to Genting Highlands. So we took a detour from the middle ring road and headed into Jalan Kuching. It is rather tricky to locate this restaurant if you are not familiar with this area. Therefore I have drawn a detailed map below showing all the road names leading to this restaurant.
The service here is fast and there are plenty of tables available which would fill up fast during lunch and dinner time. Kar Hee is a good family restaurant and the price for the food here is quite reasonable although it is located very close to the town area.
One of the supervisor suggested that we try Wu Tou Kow Yoke (Braised Pork Belly with Yam) and Stir Fried Sang Yee (Snakehead Fish, Haruan). We also ordered Stir Fried Long Beans and Steamed Lala (Shell Fish).
The serving for the Wu Tou Kow Yoke is rather big but we managed to finish all of it! The meat is tender and I love the soft yam!
I like the fresh and sweet taste of the Sang Yee fish meat. The spring onions and Chinese cooking wine brings out the natural sweetness of the Sang Yee, which is of a freshwater origin.
The Long Beans dish is ok and there is not much to shout about the Steamed Lala. However the serving is generous and the Lala (shellfish) is very fresh.
I can’t recall the exact amount we paid for this dinner but I remember it was very reasonable. Overall it was a very satisfying meal for 5 adults and 3 children.

I always like the healthy dishes you present here even if you eat out with your family +)
