My family went to Lumut for the weekend and stayed in the town Star Orient Hotel for convenience sake. We guess that it would be easier for us to go out for food in town centre rather than staying in Teluk Batik or other outskirt beach resort. Anyway, we ended up driving up to Kg Cina in search of reasonable priced and fresh seafood. There are many restaurants in this area. We drove halfway through until Ah Pek Seafood and I counted there are at least 10 restaurants along the way. Luckily, my brother in law is very familiar with this area.
There was a good crowd at Yi Yue Hiong, so we decided to give it a try. We ordered Fried Kepah (shellfish), Assam Prawns, Salted Fish Taugeh (beansprout), Clay pot tofu, Kam Heong crab, Fried Local Noodles, Thai Style Crispy Squid and fresh coconut drinks. The food here is very tasty and this is one of the best seafood dinner I ever had. I stuffed myself crazy and went a little overboard! Ha ha ha!
The total bill for 4 adults, 1 child and 2 toddlers came up to be RM99!
The fried kepah is very fresh and there is no fishy smell at all. We can taste the natural sweetness in it!
They used large white prawns for this Assam Prawn dish. The prawns are very fresh and I love the aromatic assam (tamarind) sauce that coat the juicy prawn. Nice dish!
We ordered Salted fish taugeh (bean sprout) because we love Perak taugeh which is very chubby and crunchy. The salted fish taugeh has nice ‘wok hei’ smell. Another nice dish!
Then came the clay pot tofu and this dish is for the kids. They enjoyed the soft tofu in the savoury starchy gravy.
The Kam Heong Prawns dish is out of this world. This is the best Kam Heong crab I ever tasted! The taste is very unique and different from the other Kam Heong crab dish I have eaten before. I kept on tasting the gravy to find out what extra special ingredients they put in to it. I shall be back here again to eat this dish! Mua ha ha ha ha!
We wanted to try the local noodles so we ordered this fried noodles dish. Very tasty as well! A little like Man Ee Mee.
I find Thai Style Crispy Squid rather unique in taste. It has a little honey like taste and I love it very much. The baby squid is very fresh as well!
