Fake Eggs Discovered in Penang- How they make fake eggs, grapes and pig intestine

Looks like fake eggs from China have found its' way into our country or maybe some of our unscrupulous locals had learned the way to make it. The discovery of these fake eggs in Penang was published in the newspapers today. Actually, fake eggs were discovered in 3 China cities in Jan 2006.

Fake eggs contain industrial chemicals like Alum which causes dementia, calcium choride causes liver deseases and benzoic acid is harmful to our nerves & brain.

How do we identify fake eggs? Fake eggs have rough shell, a little irregular in shape and they don't have the spiral or thin string liked chalaza (plural chalazae) commonly found in fresh eggs. Chalaza holds the egg yolk in place, thus protecting it.

At first I thought that the process of making these fake eggs must be rather complicated but after watching the video below, it seems very easy. One just need a few chemicals and coagulant to manufacture these fakes. The video below shows how fake eggs are produced in China. Be careful When Using Your PC Notebook at Public Places

I met up with my old time buddy just now at a Kopitiam near Jalan Kuching and we had a great time chit chatting. We were seated at the non air-conditioned place outside the coffee shop. As we were about to settle the bill, we witnessed a snatch theft that happened so fast that we were unable to give a chase. A man who sat directly behind me was using his PC Notebook to surf the net and without any warning a motorbike pillion rider came by and snatched his notebook away. By the time I turned to have a look at the commotion, the snatch thief had already reached his accomplice who was waiting on the bike and they were gone from the place in just mere seconds. The poor victim only managed to shout at them because it happened so fast. By the time, I was fully aware of what was happening it was already too late to give a chase! So, if you have to use your pc notebook at public wifi places, please make sure that you are seated in an enclosed area away from the roadside. Sadly, nowadays the city is full of lowlifes and trouble makers!

Victim of Cheque Fraud

I sent out a cheque to pay my credit card early this month via Pos Malaysia using the credit self addressed envelope provided by the credit card company. Last week, when I called the credit card company to check whether they have received my cheque, they confirmed that it did not arrive. Immediately, I called the bank to check the status of my cheque. The bank branch that issued my cheque book only knew that the cheque payment was rejected. I was told by the officer after she checked with the security department that someone else tried to cash out my cheque. Somehow this syndicate managed to intercept my cheque in the post and modified all the information in my cheque, to make it payable to another person’s name. I took a scanned copy of the cheque and found that all the handwriting on it was not mine. The payee name has been changed from the credit card company to an individual name. They used the same payment amount as in my credit card bill. It seems that this syndicate is very active and they have managed to get away with some of the victim’s money. Last Thursday someone wrote to a local newspaper about his cheque that was sent out to pay his insurance premium was fraudulently cashed out by someone else. In order to avoid these problem, make sure you send your cheque using a normal envelope or bank it in directly in to the payee account. It took me half a day get this problem sorted out; go the bank, make police report, and make new payment to my credit card company.
