Maggi Tasty Lite for Supper....errr Early Morning Snack Actually!

I was wide awake this morning at 1.30 am after making milk and feeding my little toddler. Then my stomach started growling and could not sleep. I went to the kitchen and found a packet of Maggi Tasty Lite. I cook it with plain and added a dash of extra virgin olive oil. I found some leftover Romaine Lettuce in my fridge and decided to garnish the maggi mee with it. Maggi Tasty Lite is suppose to have low salt content and no added MSG. The curry taste is a little too bland for my taste buds but it is spicier than the normal Maggi Curry Mee. So I have to add some light soya sauce to enhance the taste a little bit! So, there I was, eating maggi mee early in the morning and watching my favourite AFC channel which was airing Bruce Lim and Angel Aquino, Tablescapes – Life on a plate. This episode of Tablescapes touched on the use of coconut milk in Philippines’s cuisine. Hit the sack around 2.30 am!

Maggi Mee Assam Laksa with Bacon and Fu Chuk

Whenever I feel a bit lazy to out for supper, I would cook Maggi Assam Laksa to fill my tummy. Maggi Mee Assam Laksa is one of my favourite instant noodles but I wish they would make it a little bit sourer and spicier in taste. I remember, it used to be very sour when they first launched this product back in the 70s. My auntie cooked a bowl of Maggi Assam laksa for me that time when I came back from school, and it taste real good back then!....yum yum! Well, I made this bowl of Assam laksa maggi mee for supper, added some bacon and fu chuk (fried bean curd) into it so that I will not wake up hungry in the middle of the night! Sometimes, if I have some leftovers mint leaves and bunga kantan (wild ginger flower), then I would add them into the assam laksa as well. How do you cook Assam Laksa Instant noodle? Nissin Tomyam Instant Noodle

My son loves instant noodle and my sister bought this Nissin Tomyam mee from the shop next to Rakuten, Desa Park City for him. My first reaction was, ‘Aiya, Japanese Tomyam, sure won’t taste nice. So pricey some more! Why you buy it?’ I normally buy Thai Made Tomyam Instant Noodle. Anyway, for my son, he loves all kind of instant noodle. After reading through packaging, I found that it is actually made in Hong Kong. Well, last week I came across one last packet left in my kitchen cabinet and decided to try it out. I added some fu chuk (fried bean curd sheets) to the Nissin Tomyam mee and put in all the accompanying sauces (soup stock and chilly oil) that came with it. I noticed that the serving is a little bit more than our local instant noodle. I ate this mee, while watching my favourite AFC show. Mmmmm, it tastes quite good and spicy. The mee has springy texture and the soup is tasty. Can fight with the Thailand made one lah! New Way to Cook/Eat Maggi/Instant Chicken Mee (Noodle), Sour and Spicy!

Ayam Maggi Mee, lime, bird eye chillies..........One packet of Extra hot chilli padi (bird eye chilli) Put all the ingredients in a plate...........................The final result, sour and spicy mee! Actually, I have been cooking Chicken Maggi Mee this way for quite some time already, ever since my wife’s cousin thought me this recipe. Maggi mee is one of the favourite instant noodle brand in Malaysia and many parts of Asia. This recipe will only suit the taste buds of those who love sour and spicy food. I used super hot chilli padi which originated from Australia for extra kick! I like the sour and spicy taste of instant noodle cooked this way. No wonder, I cannot put on weight, maybe I ate a little too much of sour and spicy food! Ingredients Maggi Chicken Mee, 1 packet Lime, 2 pcs, squeeze out the juice Bird Eye Chilli (Cili Padi), 2 pcs, chopped finely or sliced thinly Boil a bowl of water and put in the instant noodle. After 2 minutes, take out the mee (noodle) and drain away excess water. Put the lime juice, chicken stock and chilli padi (bird eye chilli) on to a plate. Add in the cooked mee (noodle) and mix well. Get ready a class of cold water before you eat this mee, sour and very spicy! Quickie Fried Maggi Mee Recipe

Sometimes whenever it is too late to go out for supper, I would cook Fried Maggi mee for my kids. I don’t really like to let them eat too much artificial flavours so I only use very little of the flavouring powder provider in the packet. Ingredients One packet of Maggi Mee Garlic, 3 pcs, chopped finely Maggi Mee, blanced in hot water until it turned soft Egg, 1 pc A little flavouring powdered stock (Comes with the instant noodles) Dark soya sauce, 1/3 teaspoon Light soya sauce, 1/3 teaspoon Sautéed garlic in a little hot oil until fragrant. Add in the mee and fry for a short while. Add a little more oil and then put in the egg. Add dark and light soya sauce. Then add the favouring. Garnish with spring onions and serve.
