A Nice Dinner at Genting Lakeview Seafood Restaurant, First World

Lakeview restaurant..........................................................Crispy Fried Chicken
Crunchy kailan......................................................................Crispy Fried Prawn

River Patin steamed with soya sauce and garnish with Chinese Parsley
I was in Genting recently with my Business Partner, Shirleen for a conference. We met up with her friend Mr. Ang & Mrs Ang and had a nice long chat at Mcdonald Genting. Then they took us to Genting Lakeview Seafood Restaurant for dinner. It was nice of them to give us a treat in this nice restaurant. Genting Lakeview restaurant is located at the Genting First World building and it has a very nice view of the outdoor theme park lake. We ordered Crispy Prawn, Steam River Patin, Crispy Fried Chicken and Hong Kong Kailan. The prawns were succulent and fresh. Four of us finished all the prawns real fast, yum yum, the smell of garlic blended well with the prawns! Since the patin fish we ordered was river patin, there was no fishy smell at all. The flesh is very smooth and texture is fine. It was a medium size fish and just nice for four diners! I love the Hong Kong kailan fried with garlic. The Hong Kong Kailan was very crunchy and full of natural sweetness. I like the skin of the Crispy Fried Chicken dish......it taste very nice and crispy. Guess, everything that if fried is my favourite. Overall, the meal was very nice and we had a good time catching up with our friends.

Genting Super Stars Singing Competition

My Business Partner and I watched the Genting Super Stars Singing Contest audition, when we were in Genting yesterday. Thanks to Benson for informing us about this contest and we managed to catch his friend, Jessie performing a nice Chinese song and a chorus from one of Siti Nurhaliza’s song. She sang quite well on stage. Many contestants were seen waiting for their turn to audition at the Genting International Showroom. The contestants are required to sing without any accompanying music and the judges commented on their singing before deciding whether they are qualified to go into the next round. Some participants were quite nervous on stage but the judges were kind enough to give them some time to regain their composure. I heard that the first prize is quite attractive! Sorry, this contest is open for Genting employees only.

A Working Trip up Genting, Economy Rice at Weng Fatt Restaurant

I got a chance to test out my Business Partner’s brand new Toyota Corolla Altis 1.8 this morning, driving it up Genting Highlands. The car is easy to handle, loaded with power and it was real nice driving it all the way to the highlands’ peak.
Mmmm, love the smell of a brand new car. Note the automatic gear that can be used in sequential manual mode.
Our appointment was brought forward to a later time of the day, so we hang around Genting since we were already there. Yay, can go to casino! But unfortunately, I had my notebook with me, sigh! No place to safely keep it. The locker outside the casino is too small. So, we have to hang around the coffee shop. Kedai Kopi & Makanan Weng Fatt is located near the staff quarter, at the 15th Floor Car park (on level below the open air car park) opposite Genting Hotel. They have many choices of food like economy rice, noodles, stir fry noodles and mee, pau and you can also order ala carte dishes to eat with rice. We decided to have a simple meal of economy rice, since the pork trotter in soya sauce looks very tempting. Three dishes of pork trotters, kungpo cuttlefish and tofu cost me RM5 and a large cup of coffee RM2.50. Inside the restaurant which is near the staff quarters. The economy rice that I had. Entrance to the restaurant from the Car park Location: Kedai Kopi & Makanan Weng Fatt 15th Floor, RSC Shopping Centre Car Park 3, Genting Highlands 69000, Pahang Darul Makmur Open : 7am to 12 midnight
