Howah Tai Chow at Poh Chuan Restaurant, Damansara Jaya – Dinner Only

The row of shop houses behind KDU Damansara Jaya that Poh Chuan is located is rather quiet at night. Other than patrons dining at the famous claypot restaurant this same row, the commercial office workers crowd is missing during the night. Howah Tai Chow would operate at night at Poh Chuan Restaurant which sells Penang hawker food during the day. Although the restaurant is a little old, you can find good family meal here at a very reasonable price. The price of the dishes start from RM2.50 for a small paper wrapped chicken (Chi Pow Kai) and RM3 for a small dish of oyster sauce green vegetable. My family had Stir Fried Yau Mak (Romaine Lettuce), Curry Pork Ribs, Hakka Style Fried Pork Ribs, Fu Yong Eggs, 2 pieces of Wrapped Chicken (Chi Pow Kai) and Pig Stomach Soup. The total bill for 4 adults, 1 children and 1 toddler plus drinks came up to be RM47.50. Howah Tai Chow at Poh Chuan is a good place for a reasonably priced and cheap but good family meal.

The fried yau mak is fresh and crunchy. Nice!

I love the curry pork ribs. The gravy has nice aroma and I flooded my rice with it. The ribs are tender Although the inner part of the ribs was a little raw but the ribs was well marinated and tasted good. The meat is tender and I guess it would be hard if the over fried it. The idea of ordering Fu Yong eggs came about when we were a little undecided of what to order! Ha ha ha! My son loves the Paper Wrapped Chicken (Chi Pow Kai). He finished most of it! The peppery pig stomach soup has nice natural sweetness and taste good! The menu with reasonably priced dishes starting from RM2.50
The stall that sells Penang Assam Laksa, Penang Har Mee and wantan mee during lunch time.
Good old family restaurant
