KFC Maggi Mee Assam Laksa

When I was about to cook Maggi Assam Laksa instant noodle for supper, I noticed that there is still one piece of Kentucky Fried Chicken breast meat on my dining table. This always happen whenever KFC packed chicken breast meat for my take away meal; sure to have left over....lol!
Anyway, instead of wasting it or let it sit in the fridge till the next morning, I removed the meat from the breast bone and cooked with my instant assam laksa noodle.
Yum yum.......my KFC Maggi Assam Laksa....ha ha ha!

Cooking With Microwave Oven - Maggi Assam Laksa Instant Noodle

I tried cooking instant noodles with the microwave oven and found that it is very easy do so compared with using my gas cooker. I don't have to wait for the water to boil and it only takes me 2 and a half minutes to cook it with in microwave oven.
I put a packet of maggi assam laksa noodles in a bowl and add in the soup mix. Then I throw in 3 pieces of Fu Chuk (Fried bean curd skins). After that I pour hot water into the bowl. Lastly, I cook the bowl of maggi assam laksa noodles in the microwave oven at high heat for 2 and a half minutes.
Simple and easy! Going to enjoy my Maggi assam laksa supper now........bye!

Braised Maggi Curry Mee Recipe, Singapore Heh Mee (Prawn Noodle) Style

I have not travelled to Singapore for quite some time already and I missed the Heh Mee (Prawn Noodles). The Singapore Heh Mee is different from the Prawn Mee (Hokkien Mee) that we have in Malaysia. The Singaporean version is actually fried egg noodles with prawns and a little starchy gravy. Since I have some shelled prawn and Ipoh taugeh (bean sprouts) in my fridge, the idea of cooking something similar to the Singaporean Heh Mee came to my mind. I added a little of the curry soup stock from the Maggi Instant curry mee to give the dish some spicy "kick".
Here how I cook the Braised Maggi Curry Mee, Singapore Heh Mee Style.
Ingredients
Maggi Curry Instant Mee or any other brands, 1 packet, soak noodle in hot water till soften
Shallots, 2 pcs, cut into slices
Taugeh (Bean sprouts), 1/2 cup
Spring onions, 1 stalk, cut into 1 " length
Eggs, 1pc
Prawns, 5 medium size, shelled (not shelled is ok)
Water (1 cup) and Corn flour mixture (4 teaspoons)
Dark soya sauce, 1/4 teaspoon
Light soya sauce, 1 teaspoon
Salt to taste
Heat up wok and put in some vegetable oil . Fry the shallots slices until they turned crispy. Take out the shallots and put them aside. Put prawns and eggs in the hot oil. Stir fry them for a short while. Add the soften maggi instant noodles. Pour in the light soya sauce and dark soya sauce. Add Taugeh (beansprout). Fry the mee (noodle) until it is cooked. Take out the fried noodle and put it on the serving plate. Pour the water and corn flour mixture on the pan. Keep on stirring it until the soup thicken. Add maggi curry mee stock, salt to taste and bring to a boil. Pour the soup on the fried noodles. Garnish with spring onions and deep fried shallots before serving. Happy Supper Time!

Mi Goreng Sedap (Instant Fried Noodle)

My friend told me that Mi Goreng Sedap is quite nice and I bought a packet of five in a hypermarket when I was shopping for my groceries. I cooked it for supper that night. It came with three types of sauces; dark sweet soya sauce, chilli sauce and garlic oil. There are also the seasoning powder (bumbu) and extra 5x crispy fried shallots (bawang goreng). No wonder my friend says this mee (noodle) is nice. They are rather generous with the fried shallots. I throw in the instant noodle in pot hot boiling water and let it simmer for around 2 minute. Then I drain away the water. I put all the sauces, fried shallots and seasoning powder in a plate and then the noodles on top. I then mixed them up. Got to go and cook another packet again! Posting this is making me drooling for Mi Goreng Sedap. Ha ha ha!

Maggi Tasty Lite for Supper....errr Early Morning Snack Actually!

I was wide awake this morning at 1.30 am after making milk and feeding my little toddler. Then my stomach started growling and could not sleep. I went to the kitchen and found a packet of Maggi Tasty Lite. I cook it with plain and added a dash of extra virgin olive oil. I found some leftover Romaine Lettuce in my fridge and decided to garnish the maggi mee with it. Maggi Tasty Lite is suppose to have low salt content and no added MSG. The curry taste is a little too bland for my taste buds but it is spicier than the normal Maggi Curry Mee. So I have to add some light soya sauce to enhance the taste a little bit! So, there I was, eating maggi mee early in the morning and watching my favourite AFC channel which was airing Bruce Lim and Angel Aquino, Tablescapes – Life on a plate. This episode of Tablescapes touched on the use of coconut milk in Philippines’s cuisine. Hit the sack around 2.30 am!

Maggi Mee Assam Laksa with Bacon and Fu Chuk

Whenever I feel a bit lazy to out for supper, I would cook Maggi Assam Laksa to fill my tummy. Maggi Mee Assam Laksa is one of my favourite instant noodles but I wish they would make it a little bit sourer and spicier in taste. I remember, it used to be very sour when they first launched this product back in the 70s. My auntie cooked a bowl of Maggi Assam laksa for me that time when I came back from school, and it taste real good back then!....yum yum! Well, I made this bowl of Assam laksa maggi mee for supper, added some bacon and fu chuk (fried bean curd) into it so that I will not wake up hungry in the middle of the night! Sometimes, if I have some leftovers mint leaves and bunga kantan (wild ginger flower), then I would add them into the assam laksa as well. How do you cook Assam Laksa Instant noodle? Nissin Tomyam Instant Noodle

My son loves instant noodle and my sister bought this Nissin Tomyam mee from the shop next to Rakuten, Desa Park City for him. My first reaction was, ‘Aiya, Japanese Tomyam, sure won’t taste nice. So pricey some more! Why you buy it?’ I normally buy Thai Made Tomyam Instant Noodle. Anyway, for my son, he loves all kind of instant noodle. After reading through packaging, I found that it is actually made in Hong Kong. Well, last week I came across one last packet left in my kitchen cabinet and decided to try it out. I added some fu chuk (fried bean curd sheets) to the Nissin Tomyam mee and put in all the accompanying sauces (soup stock and chilly oil) that came with it. I noticed that the serving is a little bit more than our local instant noodle. I ate this mee, while watching my favourite AFC show. Mmmmm, it tastes quite good and spicy. The mee has springy texture and the soup is tasty. Can fight with the Thailand made one lah! New Way to Cook/Eat Maggi/Instant Chicken Mee (Noodle), Sour and Spicy!

Ayam Maggi Mee, lime, bird eye chillies..........One packet of Extra hot chilli padi (bird eye chilli) Put all the ingredients in a plate...........................The final result, sour and spicy mee! Actually, I have been cooking Chicken Maggi Mee this way for quite some time already, ever since my wife’s cousin thought me this recipe. Maggi mee is one of the favourite instant noodle brand in Malaysia and many parts of Asia. This recipe will only suit the taste buds of those who love sour and spicy food. I used super hot chilli padi which originated from Australia for extra kick! I like the sour and spicy taste of instant noodle cooked this way. No wonder, I cannot put on weight, maybe I ate a little too much of sour and spicy food! Ingredients Maggi Chicken Mee, 1 packet Lime, 2 pcs, squeeze out the juice Bird Eye Chilli (Cili Padi), 2 pcs, chopped finely or sliced thinly Boil a bowl of water and put in the instant noodle. After 2 minutes, take out the mee (noodle) and drain away excess water. Put the lime juice, chicken stock and chilli padi (bird eye chilli) on to a plate. Add in the cooked mee (noodle) and mix well. Get ready a class of cold water before you eat this mee, sour and very spicy!
