Tucked in the makeshift stalls near the place where I always go for my favourite Stingray Curry and Yong Tau Foo, lies a small production outlet for cakes, pastries and cookies. Although the outlet is very small, Cookie Hut distributes their product all over KL and Kepong. You will see that their workers are forever very busy making and baking various types of confectioneries.
I bought a packet of 5 freshly made kaya kok (coconut milk custard pastry) for RM4.50. They are shaped like curry puff. The kaya is thick and rich in flavours but not too sweet almost like home made ones and the pastry is flaky. It tastes real good with a cup of hot coffee or tea!
I saw that they also have
Shat Kei Ma (Crispy Egg Flour with Molasses Biscuit) and peanut cookies on the display counter for sale. Will check out the shat kei ma.....next round!

Until now I am still looking for the crusty bread with chicken curry filling, it certainly looks like the one in the photo, maybe they're almost the same. That looks very delicious.
kaya puffs are nice esp when they are still warm... well, i guess anything that is still warm is nice, huh... over here, kaya puffs like that size is still selling for 60sen each...
Give me some to go with a hot cup of kopi pls !

Oh I miss good Kaya Kok! It is hard to find a not so sweet ones here in KL. I love th eone from Ipoh. Oh I so want them.
