Star Orient Hotel Lumut and Fishing at the Seaside

This is the hotel that I stayed during my last trip to Lumut. I took this photos before the hearty dinner at Yit Yue Hiong at Kg Cina. I have stayed in Orient Star Lumut many years back and I found that they have actually maintain it quite well over the years. The room cost us RM215 per night (corporate rate), including breakfast.
The beach at the back of the hotel. They have sports facilities like beach volleyball court, greasy pole and water pillow fight platform. The sea water is full of wood debris, so it is not suitable for swimming. This strech of channel has rather busy traffic and you can see many Lumut ferries leaving the jetty heading towards Pulau Pangkor.
It was a sunny and bright day. The water looks inviting for me to sink my fishing line in it. I went to the car to take out my fishing gears. First I need to get some bait. I took some of my daughter's Tiger bisquit to lure the sand worms out from their hiding. I added the bisquits into a bottle of seawater and pour it on the sand near the sea. I can see lots of tiny worms wriggling out from its' hideout to eat the pieces of bisquit. These worms are blind but have very sensitive food sensing abilities. I am getting old already and my hands are not so fast anymore but I managed to pull out around 7 to 8 worms to use as bait.
Ahhh, this is life! Waiting for fish to bite and enjoy the view with refreshing sea breeze blowing at my face. My daughter had a whale of time playing with water and sand at the seaside while I sat by the sand near my fishing rod. Lots of small fishes nibbling at my worm bait but I did not manage to catch any of them. Then I went over to check out what other anglers caught. They caught lots of 'bebolos', 'gelama' and other small fishes.

Pete you have been travelling pretty much lately, btw will the worms only attracted to your daughter's special Tiger bisquits? Normal biscuits can work or not? hahaha...Bro what do you mean you are getting old and not fast enough with the worms? You are 69 and I am merely one year older but not feeling old leh kakaka..
