Economy Fried Bihun – Desa Aman Puri Pasar Malam (night market)

Sometimes, a simple economy fried bihun (rice vermicelli) makes a satisfying meal. This type of bihun are fried plain with some taugeh (bean sprouts) added. Economy fried bihun is quite cheap and the serving portion is rather generous. Some economy bihun is quite tasty, like the one in my previous post, Late Night Snacks. I bought this economy fried bihun from the same stall that I bought the Char Kueh Teow at Desa Aman Puri night market (pasar malam). At RM1.70 a packet, the serving is rather generous. I love to eat it with pickled green chillies. The economy bihun from this stall is ok but I find the economy fried kueh teow to be too oily. However, the kueh teow that they fried on the spot upon order is really nice (as per my previous post). I am going to enjoy my fried bihun now......LOL!

Huhhhh RM1.70 used to be 10sen of course...once upon a time in my kampung. Recently had breakfast once with a friend in my kampung and its less than U$1. Two plates of plain fried Bihun top with some curry, longbeans & cockles, 2 glasses of chrysanthemum tea paid RM3.00 only. My KL friend got a HUGE problem just can't believe it..haha.

RM1.70 expensive lah. Here, at some Malay stalls RM1.00 enough for at least two persons - and although no ingredients, really delicious. Dunno how they cook...so nice.

P.S.
I see Sg Buloh on the map. My missus going for a course at the hospital there. Where's the nearest reasonably good hotel - no traffic jam one? She's going to stay at Mid Valley...but that place - coming back in the evening, I think bad jam... Will probably get back to the hotel very late.

$1.70, can't even get instant noodles here in New Zealand.

In NTU, in Singapore, at the student canteens, you can get economy bihoon or noodles, with tiny sheds of carrots and cai sin and tougeh.

Then you can buy fried eggs, fried luncheon meat or fried toufoo.

Sometimes when I was lazy after I dropped the husband to work, I buy some beehoon, and then get some meat for the kids when they come back from school.

Oh yes, some stall have good sambal.

I don't have the habit of supper aka SIAO YE, I am still veyr fat. Can't imagine if I have SIAO YE every night.

Canteen food is quite cheap, if you are not fussy and eat student food.

That was where I ate my first Singapore curry laksa with HUM.
