Restaurant Sg Long, Kajang, Selangor

My family and I had a quick lunch in this restaurant. We had some errands to run in the area and we hopped in to Restaurant Sg Long, which is the first restaurant you will notice when you turned into the road leading to UTAR in this area. It was a weekend and not many patrons around because it was way passed lunch time. As usual, my son would want to try the Har Mee (Hokkien Mee), I had the Chee Cheong Fun with Har Ko (prawn paste), my wife ordered the duck rice for my daughter and herself. Unfortunately, when the supposedly duck rice arrived, we found out it was actually chicken. This is the problem when the owner let a foreigner run their stall. Below is the review of the food!

I always love eating chee cheong fun (RM 2 for 2 rolls) with har ko (prawn paste) sauce. The sauce is nice and it was garnished with generous amount of Chee Mau (toasted sesame seeds) & crispy fried shallots. Ok, the chee cheong fun passed the test! LOL!

I took one piece of the pork ribs from my son’s Hokkien mee (RM4). It was tender, juicy and nice. The soup is quite good also and can be enhanced further by adding more of the chilly boh (paste) provided.

The braised chicken was rather bland in taste and flavours, so was the braised intestine too. I guess I am more in to flavourful and salty type of food! However, the stall owner needs to relook into his recipe! It cost me RM14 for one plate of braised chicken, one plate of braised pig intestine and 3 bowls of rice.

Looks good. I love eating at places like this and eating that kind of food - compared to eating in restaurants... Cheap too!

mNhL - This is Penang Chee Cheong Fun (with prawn paste). RM1 per roll is considered cheap as SS2, PJ is selling at RM1.20 per roll.

Pete - Thanks for the comment about the duck rice. The stall had been removed from our Restaurant. Please do drop by again, preferably at night as there will be more choice of food.

Regards,
RSL management
