Butterworth New Special Seafood Restaurant (Sing Chee)

This is one of my favourite restaurant in Butterworth. Restoran Makanan Laut New Special (Seafood Restaurant, Sing Chee) at Jalan Pantai Bersih is located next to Thean Hock Keong Temple. The restaurant setting is simple, just like a normal neighbourhood coffeeshop type. The food here is nice and price is reasonable. I can't remember how much was paid for this early night supper because I was there a few months back. Sorrylah, delayed post! LOL!

The first dish we ordered was the Tuapan (fried flat rice noodles).  We finished this rather quickly.
Then came the salted fish fried bihun. Taste good with the lime provided.
We ordered deep fried chicken wings for the kids. Taste 'so so' only!
For some greens, we had the stir fried young sweet potato shoots! Nice
This Glass Prawn with plum sauce is my favourite. I love the crispy glass prawn in the sour plum sauce. There are also cashew nuts added to this wonderful dish. Yummy and delicious! I can't find this dish in other restaurant!
Peacuful night at the temple next to New Special Seafood restaurant. The sea is around 700 meters from this location. I can feel the warm wind blowing from the sea across the Penang North Channel.

Glass prawn? This dish is indeed special, no wonder the restaurant is named New Special. Any other special dishes?

Hi Everyone, glass prawn is a kind of dried prawn with very thin transparent skin and flat as well. It is fried until crispy....yum yum!
