My First Attempt in Preparing Chinese Crispy Roast Pork
My not so crispy Chinese Style Roast Pork!
This is my first attempt to make crispy roast pork. The taste is good but I did not dry the skin long enough, so after roasting the skin was not very crispy. Anyway, I cut out the skin and made sour chap sued soup with it.
Ingredients
Pork Belly with skin, 6”x6”x10”
Marinade
Five Spice powder, 1 table spoon
Nam Yee (Fermented Bean Curd), 1 piece
Pepper, ½ teaspoon
Salt, 1 teaspoon
Sugar, 1 table spoon (You can use Mak Ngar Tong, Maltose)
Shao Shing Chiew, 1 table spoon
Rub the meat side of the pork belly with the marinade. Then leave the pork belly in the fridge overnight to dry the skin. Rub 2 table spoons of salt on the skin before roasting the meat. Roast in preheated oven at 200 Deg C for 30 to 40 minutes.

GENG wor!
I shall try it out too.
That Calvin wants everybody to courier him food! No wonder that shape and size! LOL!!! I tried once...wrapped the rest of meat after roasting in aluminium foil leaving the skin and fat part exposed and continued roasting. Very crispy! But never tried again...too fat!
Eunice : Simply try only. Sometimes nice sometimes 'teruk' lorrr. LOL
Josephine : Try it, quite interesting to see the bubbles forming on the skin.
STP : Good idea to wrap the other part of the meat with aluminium foil an expose the skin. I will try it next time.
