You can find
reasonably priced food at most wet market. While many
nasi lemak (coconut milk steamed rice) vendors have chosen to raise their price, this particular nasi lemak vendor in Kepong Wet market is still selling his nasi lemak bungkus (packet) at RM1. This vendor put packets of nasi lemak in one basket, propped up on a plastic stools. Sometime you will see a young Malay girl helping out at this stall. The packet of nasi lemak that I had is accompanied with ikan bilis (anchovies), ¼ hard boiled egg, roasted peanuts and a generous amount of sambal (prawn paste chilli). It sure tasted nicer than many nasi lemak that are found in KL, simple and nice.
I will normally ‘tar pau’ (take away) the nasi lemak from this stall at eat it at the
tau fu fah stall closed by. Good morning breakfast of Tau Fu Fah (RM0.80) and nasi lemak (RM1). And the total cost is only RM1.80.
